OUR DREAM:

A PLACE OF OUR OWN

Your support will help us fulfill our dream of creating Circus Ukundaa space where acrobatics, tradition, and innovation thrive, and where young people can find inspiration, purpose, and opportunity.

For many years, our dream has been to have a place to train, perform, and educate. We usually practice on the beach, and don’t have a dedicated space to call our own. Circus Ukunda Training & Performance Center will enable us to preserve the incredible art of Kenyan acrobatics while inspiring and training the next generation of performers.

Barro talks about the importance and uses of the new center.

Tetez discusses our mission to train the next generation of acrobats.

Dickson explaining how we work to preserve Giriama and Chonyi culture.

HOPE FOR A NEW BEGINNING

Earlier this year, we received a generous donation from Mary (Long Yan Huithank you forever!), $10,000, which made us feel that we can reach our goal, so we started looking for land to build our center. At long last, we found a plot that we like!

To purchase this land, we must raise $15,000. If we surpass this goal, well be able to take the next steps: building a stage, fencing the property, and laying the groundwork for even greater things to come. Your support will help us fulfill our dream of building Circus Ukundaa space where acrobatics, tradition, and innovation thrive, and where young people can find inspiration, purpose, and opportunity.

Thank you for believing in us! We will list the names of all donors on our website (unless you prefer not to be mentioned). And those who donate more than $100 can request a private performance that we will share via video. The Diani Mambo Acrobats will never forget your support!
